Wakening Call from my boss

Every morning, he will walk in at about 9plus to 10am with a murderous-red bike jacket and helmet where he was totally well-disguised off as a motorbike robber (i.e.: he was so well-covered that nobody can identify him). Routinely, he would throw off few deadline questions to his fellow subordinates, expecting completion of work or a good reason for not completing. He speaks with good English and deliverance of his idea and thoughts was very consistent and tactical.

As being once an attachment student during my polytechnic final year, I had casually assumed that this attachment will not differ much from the previous, in a way that I'll definitely not be offered with any chances of handling major responsibilities or important task, other then some mundane donkey work.

Hoho! And I was deadly wrong with that. I had only wake up from the idea when he actually hollered me on the second time, demanding for actions and results. All the while, I thought I was there to assist him and I was waiting for the next command or direction but he said this time it's the other way round. He says he's going to assist me. He even commented for the 4th or 5th time that I am very lucky to be an attachment student there. Hai.. I am determined to meet the challenge and am prepared to be hollered over and over again before 7th June arrives..
To everyone who's reading my blog: Bless me with good luck~~

Lunch Time and Squeeze Time!

Derek Simpson Bernard
Three of my dear colleagues in Envipure P/L. (looks squeezy right?)
My first time having lunch at outside canteens and we are heading to the main office for a while. One of the benefits of being the only female employee, I get to have the front seat all on me own. Haha..!

Sometimes When We Touch

Rainy Days

Recently, rains are coming all too often and it was especially the case about 4plus to 5pm everyday. Being forgetful as usual, after so many days of rain, it still didn't ring a bell on me that I should bring along a umbrella to work. It was raining harder than usual today. When I opened the container door, I gasped with worries. The site was flooded to about a 15cm ruler depth and my colleague was busy changing into the classic yellow-Phua-Chu-Kang boots. He offered me an extra pair but I refused. Haa...! Li Jun's Quote: "Being a lady, thou shall never wear Phua-Chu-Kang's boots in any circumstances." So I folded up my jeans and ran along to the opposite container's toilet with a broken yellow umbrella.

When I finally boarded the bus and reached Woodlands Mrt, I was so hungry that I decided that finding food shall be the top most piority then and headed to the nearby Pasah Malam. It was only when I was standing near the control station, munching contently with my food, my situation lit up on my head. My goodness, my jeans were still rolled up and my feet felt squeamish with rain and brown sand. I'm munching food like nobody's business. At that moment, there are few bunch of Republic polytechnic kids passing by. As I looked up at them, I silently wondered how pathetic-looking I must have looked... Haha..

First Visit to Construction Site (11 Jan 2008)

The 2nd level of the building, where it was flooding seriously during rain!

Behind me is the most magnificent scrubber that I'm working on most of the time.

5th Day of Attachment

Today is my 5th day of attachment! Life is so different at my attachment place. My attachment located at a construction site at North Coast Drive. HaaH... Sometimes I really hope the North Coast Dr can change to West Coast Dr.. My god... hahah.. juz a difference by one word and it takes 1hr and half to reach. Luckily, my colleague lives near me so my journey to the workplace wasn't that tedious.. Phew!

The construction site is bursting with men and more foreign workers... It is quite scary and I'm living in fear and ackwardness everyday. Whenever I walk around anywhere, there seems to have countless pairs of eye aiming at me. If their eyes were laser guns, I'll be super dead by now. It was especially the case yesterday where I went to the site for the first time (explanation: I was in the container office everyday except lunch and toilet break). There was actually foreign workers looking straight at my face in about a distance of 1m or less.. hm.. don't they know I also have a pair of eyes? I can see that they are seeing me.. Why can't they make it less obvious?? (^-^)
